Philippines 2019 with Abyssworld

Diving safari with Abyssworld in the Philippines, from 11 to 23 August 2019, 22 unforgettable dives.

From the island of Malapascua to the discreet fox shark, to the white sandy beaches, underwater biodiversity, the beauty of the Camote Islands, the Cabilao dive sites and jeepney land excursions on the island of Bohol. A bangka (Filipino Balance Boat), the «King» as a means of transport and base for diving. A beautiful journey full of colour with extraordinary meetings with the men and women of the Philippines.

The Philippines is an archipelago of 7641 islands, only 2000 are inhabited and about 2400 do not even have a name! The island of Malapascua is an island of central Visayas, in the center of the Philippine archipelago. The island is located 7km from the north coast of Cebu and is 2.5 km long and 1km wide, a small piece of paradise.

After 4h30 of navigation we discover the island of Malapascua with its small fishing villages and its beautiful beaches of white sand. The morning dives (very early) are dedicated to the search for the mythical fox shark while those in the afternoon are made on colorful reefs and the island of Gato with its cave, a protected marine reserve, where abound white-tipped shark, zebra sea snakes, alcyonaria, corals, nudibranches, seahorses, frog fish. Eleven dives in a strong current, a great wild life abounding, with real pleasures for macro-photography.

The night images of the squids schools remain very good memories of this animal life that lets itself approach as long as it is explained to us by our guides. We will also note the images of the Wally Galatea which will allow PHOCTOPUS to be awarded the 3rd Prize Best French Photographer. This was given by the world organization Worldshoot Out 2019, on the occasion of the 22nd International Diving Exhibition in Paris, on January 11, 2020.

Thank you Abyss!
